How a customer runs away from a business?

Wrong pricing and illogical terms and conditions killl a business by driving its prospective and existing customers away. Here is an example.

Karan was searching for a small hall to arrange a dealer meeting for his company. They had a need for a projector and screen for giving presentation.

He checked some halls in the vicinity.

At one particular hall, he was told the hall rent was – Rs 4000 for 3 hours. It was reasonable and at par with other options.

But the projector rental charges were Rs 2000 for 3 hours. This was a bit more.

Then came the surprising part.

Karan was told “If you wish to bring your own projector, compensation for that Rs 2000.”

This was unreasonable. It was illogical.

So Karan asked for the reason for such a high compensation amount.

Reply? बिजनेस में ऐसा ही होता है।

He thought: “Is this business?”

Forcing a customer to rent something from them only and if not rented from them, pay the same amount is monopolistic. It is punishing the customers who rent your hall premises.

No wonder, some businesses fail miserably.

They must.

Because they don’t understand what business is and what is not.

Keeping illogical prices and terms and conditions drives away the customers.

We must not punish our customers for doing business with us.

Sometimes, the businesses don’t survive to understandthis.
