In a company, one staff member made some mistakes. The boss got wild and shouted loudly to all:
“You people know nothing. You all are useless. You just come here and increase work.”
While giving feedback to someone, if we use words like “You people” or “You all”, we unwittingly include others. Unintentionally, we provide them a reason to unite. We prompt them to build a collective resentment against us.
Don’t punish all for one person’s mistake. When someone makes a mistake, we should call the person in question alone and give feedback. Don’t include others unnecessarily. Don’t give negative feedback to all which inadvertently spoils everybody’s mood.
